Jardin Majorelle: book the right ticket and enjoy the garden

Plan Jardin Majorelle as a reserved garden visit, with time to look at its blue architecture and planting. Choose any museum visits deliberately and keep the rest of the day flexible instead of treating a garden ticket as an all-city pass.

01

Book through the official portal

Start from the Fondation Jardin Majorelle website and use its linked tickets.jardinmajorelle.com portal. The foundation identifies that portal as its official online ticket source. Read the date, time slot and entry conditions before paying, and save the valid QR code so you are not dependent on finding mobile reception at the entrance.

02

Choose the visits you actually want

The garden, Musée Pierre Bergé des arts berbères and Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech are distinct attractions. Check exactly what your selection covers, and read any separate museum calendar before booking. Do not assume that the garden’s opening day or your garden QR code automatically provides entry to every museum or private area.

03

Let the planting frame the blue building

At Jardin Majorelle, take time to see how the blue architecture works against palms, cacti and other planting. Follow the paths rather than stepping into beds for a photograph. Pause away from narrow circulation points, and expect other visitors to share the same views: this is a living garden visit rather than a private photo session.

Mobile data for your trip. Check what your current plan includes for roaming. If you need another option for maps, messages and booking details, compare NXTL eSIM coverage and rates. Check that your phone supports eSIM and is unlocked, and check coverage for every stop. Download important maps and confirmations for offline use too.

04

Arrive with a small day bag

Check the current bag and visitor rules before setting out. A small bag with water, sun protection and the booking confirmation is easier to manage than luggage from a hotel transfer. Dress for the actual forecast; shade in parts of a garden does not remove the need to plan around Marrakech’s summer heat.

05

Keep the afternoon open

After the garden and any museum you have deliberately booked, allow a meal and a break before returning to the medina. For a shorter alternative, visit only the garden and save the museums for another occasion. If no suitable time slot is available, choose the Koutoubia public gardens for an outdoor pause and rearrange Majorelle through its official portal.

Bahia Palace: courtyards, ceilings and a southern medina outing

Make Bahia Palace the focus of a southern medina outing. Look at its courtyard proportions and decorated ceilings, then leave time for the neighbourhood rather than rushing north to another major monument.

Ben Youssef and Rahba Kedima: a northern medina walk

Use Ben Youssef’s courtyard as the main visit, then slow down around Rahba Kedima for a meal and a look at the shops. This walk keeps the northern medina together without adding a distant garden or southern palace.

Koutoubia to Jemaa el-Fnaa: a short exterior walk

A first weekend in Marrakech: medina courtyards and a garden morning

Split a first Marrakech weekend between the old city and a booked garden visit. This two-day plan leaves room for meals and rest instead of stacking every palace, museum and excursion into the same afternoon.

A first weekend in Casablanca: mosque, façades and Habous

Spend one day between the mosque and the old medina, then explore downtown and Habous on a second day. This plan leaves room for meals, weather changes and the journeys between neighbourhoods.

A first weekend in Fès: two manageable medina days

Give Fès two different days: one around Bab Boujloud and Bou Inania, another deeper in the craft quarters. A museum, a proper lunch and optional stops make this a usable weekend rather than a race through the medina.
