Varanasi
Very hot pre-monsoon weather, a humid rainy season, and cooler, sometimes foggy winter mornings.

Varna
Varna-area ERA5 reanalysis for 1991–2020 indicates cool winters and warm to hot summers, with showers possible throughout the year. These regional gridded estimates are not station normals or forecasts. Keep a layer for slower coastal walks and choose rain protection and shoes for the actual route; city temperature does not establish sea or swimming conditions.

Veliko Tarnovo
Veliko Tarnovo-area ERA5 reanalysis for 1991–2020 indicates cold winter starts and warm to hot summers, with rain possible throughout the year. These regional gridded estimates are not station normals or forecasts. Pack for hilly streets, exposed fortress paths and slower viewpoint stops; winter ice or summer heat can change the sensible length of a walk.

Venice
Hot, humid summer days and cool to cold damp winters call for seasonal layers; canals and exposed waterfronts can feel windy. Monthly values are calculated from NASA POWER MERRA-2 gridded daily data for 1991–2020 at the city coordinates. They represent a regional model cell, not a city weather station. Street shade, coastal exposure, elevation and urban warmth can differ. Climate averages do not predict an individual trip.

Victoria
Victoria Gonzales 1991–2020 normals provide a coastal baseline: cool winters, relatively dry summers and wetter autumn and winter months. Waterfront wind and cold spells still matter, and the station’s precipitation record is less complete than its temperature record.

Vigan
November–February is the most comfortable starting point for heritage walks, with cooler average nights and much lower rainfall than the summer monsoon. March–April is drier but hotter. Carry sun protection throughout the year and check PAGASA warnings before wet-season travel.
Open city guideThe little things worth knowing

A first weekend in Aalborg
Give Aalborg one waterfront-and-city day, then choose art or archaeology for the second. That keeps the fjord crossing and museum openings from becoming last-minute surprises.

Aalborg: Kunsten, Kildeparken and a tower choice
Choose Kunsten for art and Alvar Aalto’s architecture, with a park pause on the approach. Aalborg Tower is a separate seasonal viewpoint, so check it before making the climb the purpose of your day.

Aalborg: Lindholm Høje as a separate half-day
Lindholm Høje lies across the fjord from central Aalborg. Give its stone settings and museum a separate half-day, with the indoor opening calendar checked before you travel.

Aalborg: the older centre and a named pub stop
Use Aalborg’s old streets for a compact walk between the centre and fjord. A specific pub stop can make a useful finish, but the architecture and public streets remain the route’s main purpose.

Aalborg: Utzon Center and the Limfjord waterfront
Aalborg’s waterfront lets you compare a working fjord city with newer cultural buildings. Use the Utzon Center as the main interior, then keep the outdoor route flexible in wind.
