JICA’s Nam Ngum River Basin watershed study, Table 4-2-4, reproduces Lao meteorological-service observations for Vangvieng. The 1972–1983 historical averages give January maximum 26.6°C and minimum 14.9°C. Packing bands round those monthly averages and add ±2°C; they are neither forecasts nor extremes, and the old observations are not presented as a current climate normal. Green Discovery’s local seasonal guidance and current UK government monsoon advice support the broad drier November–February, hotter March–April and rainy May–October pattern. Local storms, heat, haze and river conditions need a fresh trip-specific check.
